Education Fund Concept

Why it is important to go the best school possible?

Graduating from best college, you would make 57 times the tuition that you paid life time, while public college such as CUNY would only return you 23 times the tuition that you paid lifetime.

College Tuition Class of 2021

Private college tuition is ~$70K-$75K/yr and ~$300K for four years.

Public college tuition ranges from $30K-$50K/yr.

Tuition inflation is 4%-7%/yr, which means it doubles every 10-14 years.

If you have a child younger than 8 years old, you would need to prepare ~$500K for his/her four-year college. If you have 2 children, $1M college fund is necessary. Tuition is always a huge burden for middle-class families.

Common Misunderstanding

Normally, people said family income >$200K has no hope in financial aid, which is definitely not true. We've seen income >$1M/yr still get financial aid. But we've also seen income ~$30K/yr got no aid at all. Working with a professional in your financial aid/scholarship strategy is a key to maximize your chance.

Also, private school could cost you less out-of-pocket money than public school, too.

Most US college application is need blind, means financial aid application will by no means hurt your admission.

Princeton University Financial Aid Class of 2020

Family income <$180K will 100% get some financial aid, at least ~$39K/yr.

University of Pennsylvania Financial Aid Class of 2020

Family income ~$200K, 90% of them get financial aid.

Household income >$220K, 30% get financial aid of ~$24K/yr.

Vanderbilt University Financial Aid Class of 2020

Family income ~$190K, 87% of them get financial aid. Some get only $10K while others get $47K/yr. Why are the same household income families so different?
